English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Kamil, from Ibrahim, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama ibn 'Abd al-Rahman and 'Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj — that he said: 'Two men quarreled — a Muslim man and a Jewish man. The Muslim said: "By the One who chose Muhammad over all the worlds!" And the Jewish man said: "By the One who chose Musa over all the worlds!" The Muslim became angry and slapped the Jewish man's eye. The Jewish man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called [the Muslim] and questioned him, and he admitted it. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not give me precedence over Musa — for people will fall unconscious on the Day of Resurrection, and I will be the first to regain consciousness. I will find Musa holding onto the side of the Throne. I do not know whether he was among those who fell unconscious and came to before me, or was among those whom Allah (عز وجل) exempted [from the fainting]."'
