English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Razzaq, from Ma'mar, from Ayyub, from Ibn Sirin — from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'In the end of times, the dream [ru'ya] of the believer will hardly be false. The most truthful of you in his dream is the most truthful of you in speech. Dreams are of three types: a good dream is glad tidings from Allah (عز وجل); a dream that a man [merely] talks to himself about; and a dream that is a source of grief from Satan. When one of you sees a dream he dislikes, let him not tell anyone about it, and let him get up and pray.' Abu Hurayra said: 'I like [seeing] the fetter [al-qayd — shackle on the feet] and I dislike the neck-ring [al-ghull]. The fetter [signifies] firmness in the religion.'
