English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Hisham ibn Hassan al-Qurdusi — and Yazid ibn Harun said: Hisham informed us — from Muhammad ibn Sirin — from the Prophet ﷺ: 'A good deed [earns] ten times its like. And fasting is for Me and I reward it — [the person] gives up his food and drink for My sake [bajra'i].' Yazid said [in his version]: 'for My sake [min ajli]. Fasting is for Me and I reward it. And the change in the mouth odor of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the scent of musk.'
