حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ سُمَيٍّ عَنْ
أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ يَعْلَمُ النَّاسُ مَا فِي النِّدَاءِ وَالصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَجِدُوا إِلَّا أَنْ يَسْتَهِمُوا عَلَيْهِ لَاسْتَهَمُوا عَلَيْهِ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُوا مَا فِي التَّهْجِيرِ لَاسْتَبَقُوا إِلَيْهِ وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُوا مَا فِي الْعِشَاءِ وَالصُّبْحِ لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Rahman, from Malik, from Sumayy, from Abu Salih — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If the people knew what reward lies in the adhan and the first row, and they found no means to [obtain it] except by drawing lots, they would draw lots for it. And if they knew what lies in hastening early to the mosque [al-tahjir], they would race to it. And if they knew what lies in the 'Isha and Fajr prayers, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.'
