Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ نُهِيَ عَنْ الِاخْتِصَارِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ قَالَ قُلْنَا لِهِشَامٍ مَا الِاخْتِصَارُ قَالَ يَضَعُ ي
َدَهُ عَلَى خَصْرِهِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ يَزِيدُ قُلْنَا لِهِشَامٍ ذَكَرَهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ بِرَأْسِهِ أَيْ نَعَمْ

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid ibn Harun, from Hisham, from Muhammad (ibn Sirin) — that it was prohibited to place one's hand on the hip during prayer. Yazid said: "We asked Hisham: 'What is al-ikhtisar?' He said: 'Placing one's hand on the hip while praying.'" Yazid said: "We asked Hisham: 'Did he attribute it to the Prophet ﷺ?'" He nodded his head meaning yes.
