عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ فَرَاهِيجَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ مَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَيْنِ التَّمْرَ وَالْمَاءَ

English Translation

Muhammad narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Dawud ibn Farahij who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) say: We had no food during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except the two black things: dates and water.
