‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُفْيَانُ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏ابْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ يَعْنِي سُهَيْلًا ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏يُخْبِرُهُمْ ‏ ‏ذَلِكَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا كَفَى أَحَدَكُمْ خَادِمُهُ صَنْعَةَ طَعَامِهِ وَكَفَاهُ حَرَّهُ وَدُخَانَهُ فَلْيُجْلِسْهُ مَعَهُ فَلْيَأْكُلْ فَإِنْ أَبَى فَلْيَأْخُذْ لُقْمَةً فَلْيُرَوِّغْهَا ثُمَّ لِيُعْطِهَا إِيَّاهُ ‏

English Translation

Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Salih — meaning Suhayl — from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), informing them of that from the Prophet ﷺ: 'When one of your servants has prepared your food, having endured the heat and smoke, then let him seat him to eat with him. If the food is scarce, then let him give him a morsel or two of it.'
