حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّ
حْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ يَقُولُ اسْتَقْرَضْتُ عَبْدِي فَلَمْ يُقْرِضْنِي وَيَشْتُمُنِي عَبْدِي وَهُوَ لَا يَدْرِي يَقُولُ وَا دَهْرَاهْ وَا دَهْرَاهْ وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Yazid — al-Wasiti — narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from al-'Ala ibn Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Indeed Islam began as something strange and it will return to being strange as it began. So glad tidings to the strangers.'
