He (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that i recited upon Abd al-Rahman: Malik, from Sumayy, the freed slave of Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman, from Abu Salih al-Samman, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'While a man was walking on a road, he found a thorny branch and removed it from the path. Allah appreciated his deed and forgave him.'
