حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحٌ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ ط
َاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ كُلُّ مَوْلُودٍ وُلِدَ عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ مِثْلَ الْأَنْعَامِ تُنْتَجُ صِحَاحًا فَتُكْوَى آذَانُهَا

English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Ibrahim ibn Khalid, from Rabah, from 'Umar ibn Habib, from 'Amr ibn Dinar, from Tawus — that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Every child is born upon the fitra. Then his parents make him Jewish or Christian — like livestock that give birth to whole [unblemished] offspring, and then their ears are branded [by their owners].'
