Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ حَدَّثَنَا سَلِيمُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ حَدَّث
َنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يَوْمًا صَائِمًا فَلَا يَرْفُثْ وَلَا يَجْهَلْ فَإِنْ امْرُؤٌ شَتَمَهُ أَوْ قَاتَلَهُ فَلْيَقُلْ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ

English Translation
Bahz narrated to us, Salim ibn Hayyan narrated to us, Sa'id narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Fasting is a shield. When one of you is fasting, let him not speak indecently or behave ignorantly. If someone insults him or fights him, let him say: I am fasting, I am fasting.'
