Hadith #298
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الْجَزَرِيِّ
عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ لَمْ تُذْنِبُوا لَذَهَبَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ وَلَجَاءَ بِقَوْمٍ يُذْنِبُونَ فَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ فَيَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ

English Translation
Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Ja'far al-Jazari, from Yazid ibn al-Asamm, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'By the One in Whose hand is my soul, this world in comparison to the Hereafter is only like one of you dipping his finger in the sea — let him see what it brings back.'
