English Translation

Hashim ibn al-Qasim narrated to us, Ayyub — meaning Ibn 'Utbah — narrated to us, Abu Kathir al-Suhaymi narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever obeys me has obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys me has disobeyed Allah. Whoever obeys my amir has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys my amir has disobeyed me. The imam is a shield behind which one fights and through which one is protected.'
