English Translation
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported: A man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have relatives — I maintain ties with them but they cut me off; I treat them well but they treat me badly; I am forbearing with them but they are harsh with me.' He said: 'If it is as you say, then it is as if you are feeding them hot ashes. You will continue to have a supporter from Allah against them as long as you continue in that way.'
