Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ قَالَ ثَنَا الْمُبَارَكُ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ الْعَبْدَ الْمَمْلُوكَ لَيُحَاسَبُ بِصَلَاتِهِ فَإِنْ نَقَصَ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا قِيلَ لَهُ نَقَصْتَ مِنْهَا

فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ سَلَّطْتَ عَلَيَّ مَلِيكًا شَغَلَنِي عَنْ صَلَاتِي فَيَقُولُ قَدْ رَأَيْتُكَ تَسْرِقُ مِنْ مَالِهِ لِنَفْسِكَ فَهَلَّا سَرَقْتَ لِنَفْسِكَ مِنْ عَمَلِكَ أَوْ عَمَلِهِ قَالَ فَيَتَّخِذُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْحُجَّةَ

English Translation

Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported from the Prophet ﷺ that the Isha prayer should be delayed to the last third of the night. He said: 'Were it not that I would cause hardship to my ummah, I would have commanded them to do so.'
