English Translation
It was narrated from Abu Hurayra (رضي الله عنه) — via Hammad ibn Usama, from Isma'il ibn Abi Khalid, from Qays — who said: "When I came to the Prophet ﷺ, I recited some poetry on the way: 'O what a long and arduous night, yet it delivered me from the land of disbelief!' He said: A slave of mine ran away from me on the road. When I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and pledged allegiance to him, while I was with him the slave appeared. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: 'O Abu Hurayra, this is your slave.' I said: 'He is for the sake of Allah,' and I freed him."
