Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ أَبِي جَالِسًا وَعِنْدَهُ غُلَامٌ فَقَامَ الْغُلَامُ فَقَعَدْتُ فِي مَقْعَدِ الْغُلَامِ فَقَالَ لِي أَبِي قُمْ عَنْ مَقْعَدِهِ إِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنْبَأَنَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّ سُهَيْلًا قَالَ لَمَّا أَقَامَنِي تَقَاصَرْتُ فِي نَفْسِي

English Translation

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, Suhayl ibn Abi Salih informed us. He said: I was sitting with my father and a boy was with him. The boy stood up and I sat in his place. My father said: Sit in another place, for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you stands up from his place and then returns to it, he has more right to it.'
