Hadith #12

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ حَدَّثَنِي وَهْبُ بْنُ كَيْسَانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَزْرَقِ قَالَ تُوُفِّيَ بَعْضُ كَنَائِنِ مَرْوَانَ فَشَهِدَهَا النَّاسُ وَشَهِدَهَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَمَعَهَا نِسَاءٌ
يَبْكِينَ فَأَمَرَهُنَّ مَرْوَانُ فَقَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ دَعْهُنَّ فَإِنَّهُ مَرَّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَنَازَةٌ مَعَهَا بَوَاكٍ فَنَهَرَهُنَّ عُمَرُ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَعْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ النَّفْسَ مُصَابَةٌ وَالْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ وَالْعَهْدَ حَدِيثٌ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported that a man passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was sitting with others. One of those present said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I consider this man to be a noble person.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do you truly think so?' He said: 'Yes, by Allah, O Messenger of Allah, he is worthy of being married to if he proposes and of being listened to if he speaks.' the Prophet ﷺ was silent. Then another man passed by and the Prophet ﷺ asked about him. The man said: 'This is one of the poor Muslims.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'This one is better than an earth full of the likes of the other.'
