حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا حَصِينٍ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ ذَكْوَانَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ حَدَّثَهُ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَلِّمْنِي ع
َمَلًا يَعْدِلُ الْجِهَادَ قَالَ لَا أَجِدُهُ قَالَ هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ إِذَا خَرَجَ الْمُجَاهِدُ أَنْ تَدْخُلَ مَسْجِدًا فَتَقُومَ لَا تَفْتُرُ وَتَصُومَ لَا تُفْطِرُ قَالَ لَا أَسْتَطِيعُ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ إِنَّ فَرَسَ الْمُجَاهِدِ يَسْتَنُّ فِي طِوَلِهِ فَيُكْتَبُ لَهُ حَسَنَاتٍ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Juhadah narrated to us, that Abu Husayn narrated to him, that Dhakwan narrated to him, that Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated to him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you leads the people in prayer, let him shorten it, for among them are the young, the old, the weak, and the sick. And when one of you prays alone, let him pray as long as he wishes.'
