English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, from al-Nadr ibn Anas, from Bashir ibn Nahik, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Whoever frees his share of a jointly-owned slave, then he must free the rest from his own wealth if he has money. Otherwise, the slave is given a fair price, and the slave works to earn the remaining amount without overburdening him.'
