حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَافِعٍ ع
َنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَمَضَانَ وَعَلَيْهِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ شَيْءٌ لَمْ يَقْضِهِ لَمْ يُتَقَبَّلْ مِنْهُ وَمَنْ صَامَ تَطَوُّعًا وَعَلَيْهِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ شَيْءٌ لَمْ يَقْضِهِ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يُتَقَبَّلُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى يَصُومَهُ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, Abu al-Aswad narrated to us, from 'Abdullah ibn Rafi', from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: 'By Allah, Sulayman ibn Dawud (عليه السلام) went around to seventy of his wives in one night, saying about each: She will give birth to a knight who will fight in the cause of Allah. But none of them gave birth except one who bore half a child.' the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Had he said: In sha' Allah (If Allah wills), it would have been as he hoped.'
