Hadith #240
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الشُّرْبِ مِنْ فَمِ السِّقَاءِ
English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Zayd, narrated to us, from Ayyub, from 'Ikrimah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do not meet the riders (to buy merchandise before they reach the market). Do not let a settled person sell on behalf of a Bedouin. Do not engage in najash. A man should not buy over the purchase of his brother, nor propose over his brother's proposal. A woman should not ask for her sister (in faith) to be divorced.'
