حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ

عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ طَعَامَنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْأَسْوَدَانِ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ وَاللَّهِ مَا كُنَّا نَرَى سَمْرَاءَكُمْ هَذِهِ وَلَا نَدْرِي مَا هِيَ وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ لِبَاسُنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ النِّمَارَ يَعْنِي بُرْدَ الْأَعْرَابِ

English Translation

Hasan narrated to us, Shayban narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: Our food with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was only the two black things: dates and water.
