حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُكَيْنٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ إِنِّي لَشَاهِدٌ لِوَفْدِ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فَنَهَاهُمْ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا فِي هَذِهِ الْأَوْعِيَةِ الْحَنْتَمِ وَالدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُ
زَفَّتِ وَالنَّقِيرِ قَالَ فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْقَوْمِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ النَّاسَ لَا ظُرُوفَ لَهُمْ قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَأَنَّهُ يَرْثِي لِلنَّاسِ قَالَ فَقَالَ اشْرَبُوا مَا طَابَ لَكُمْ فَإِذَا خَبُثَ فَذَرُوهُ

English Translation
Hasan narrated to us, Sukayn narrated to us, he said: Hafs ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shahr ibn Hawshab narrated to me, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: I was present when the delegation of 'Abd al-Qays came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They asked him about beverages, and he prohibited them from using dubba' (gourd vessels), hantam (green-glazed jars), naqir (hollowed-out palm trunks), and muzaffat (pitch-lined vessels).
