English Translation

Sulayman narrated to us, Isma'il narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr narrated to me, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'When the call to prayer is given, Shaytan turns and flees, passing wind noisily, so that he cannot hear the adhan. When the adhan is finished, he returns. When the iqamah is called, he turns and flees again. When it is finished, he returns and whispers between a man and his soul, saying: Remember such-and-such, remember such-and-such — things he had not been thinking of — until the man does not know how many rak'ahs he has prayed.'
