Hadith #35

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا
كَانَ يَبِيعُ الْخَمْرَ فِي سَفِينَةٍ وَكَانَ يَشُوبُهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَكَانَ مَعَهُ فِي السَّفِينَةِ قِرْدٌ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ الْكِيسَ وَفِيهِ الدَّنَانِيرُ قَالَ فَصَعِدَ الذَّرْوَ يَعْنِي الدَّقَلَ فَفَتَحَ الْكِيسَ فَجَعَلَ يُلْقِي فِي الْبَحْرِ دِينَارًا وَفِي السَّفِينَةِ دِينَارًا حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ فِيهِ شَيْءٌ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'A man's prayer in congregation is twenty-five times better than his prayer in his house or in his marketplace. That is because when he performs ablution and does it well, then goes out to the masjid with no other purpose than prayer, his rank is raised by one degree and one sin is erased from him with every step he takes. When he prays, the angels continue to send prayers upon him as long as he is in his place of prayer, saying: O Allah, bless him. O Allah, have mercy on him. One of you continues to be in prayer as long as he is waiting for the prayer.'
