English Translation
'Abd al-Samad narrated to us, 'Abd al-Hakam, the guide of Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah, narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman al-Asamm narrated to us who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) saying: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'On the Day of Resurrection, three will not be spoken to by Allah, nor will He look at them, nor will He purify them, and they will have a painful punishment: a man who has extra water in the desert and withholds it from a traveler, a man who sells a commodity after 'Asr swearing by Allah that he was given such-and-such price for it when he was not, and a man who pledges allegiance to a leader only for worldly gain — if the leader gives him, he fulfills his pledge, and if the leader does not give him, he does not fulfill it.'
