Hadith #478
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجٍّ أَوْ عُمْرَةٍ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنَا رِجْلٌ مِنْ جَرَادٍ فَجَعَلْنَا نَضْرِبُهُن
َّ بِسِيَاطِنَا وَعِصِيِّنَا فَنَقْتُلُهُنَّ فَسُقِطَ فِي أَيْدِينَا فَقُلْنَا مَا نَصْنَعُ وَنَحْنُ مُحْرِمُونَ فَسَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَا بَأْسَ

English Translation
Surayj narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Abu al-Muhazzim who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) say: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during a Hajj or 'Umrah, and we encountered a swarm of locusts. We started striking them with our whips and staffs. the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Eat them, for they are from the game of the sea.'
