Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ يَعْنِي الشَّافِعِيَّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَبَّانَ وَأَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ الْمُلَامَسَةِ وَالْمُنَابَذَةِ
English Translation
Muhammad ibn Idris, meaning al-Shafi'i, narrated to us who said: Malik informed us, from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban and Abu al-Zinad, from al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: 'If any of you wakes from sleep and wants to perform ablution, let him not put his hand into the vessel until he pours water over it three times, for he does not know where his hand spent the night.'
