حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَكَانَ مِنْ الْقَارَةِ وَهُوَ حَلِيفٌ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو عَنْ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَنْطَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَحْمِلُونَ اللَّبِنَ لِبِنَاءِ الْمَسْجِدِ وَرَسُولُ ا
للَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَهُمْ قَالَ فَاسْتَقْبَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَارِضٌ لَبِنَةً عَلَى بَطْنِهِ فَظَنَنْتُ أَنَّهَا قَدْ شُقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ قُلْتُ نَاوِلْنِيهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ خُذْ غَيْرَهَا يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ فَإِنَّهُ لَا عَيْشَ إِلَّا عَيْشُ الْآخِرَةِ

English Translation
Sa'id ibn Mansur narrated to us who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that ya'qub ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Abd al-Zuhri narrated to us — and he was from al-Qarah and he was an ally — from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Faith has sixty-odd — or seventy-odd — branches. The highest is the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and the lowest is removing something harmful from the road. And modesty is a branch of faith.'
