Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported that a man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I am destroyed!' He said: 'What happened to you?' He said: 'I had relations with my wife during Ramadan while fasting.' He said: 'Can you free a slave?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Can you fast two consecutive months?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Can you feed sixty poor people?' He said: 'No.' the Prophet ﷺ was brought a large basket of dates and said: 'Take this and give it in charity.' He said: 'To someone poorer than us? There is no household between the two lava fields of Madinah poorer than us.' the Prophet ﷺ laughed until his canine teeth showed, then said: 'Go and feed your family with it.'
