حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَس

َلَّمَ إِذَا أُتِيَ بِطَعَامٍ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَهْلِهِ سَأَلَ عَنْهُ فَإِنْ قِيلَ لَهُ هَدِيَّةٌ أَكَلَ وَإِنْ قِيلَ صَدَقَةٌ قَالَ كُلُوا وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ

English Translation
Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه reported: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to give dates to each of us to break our fast. One day he gave us each a date and said: 'Where is the son of Umm Ayman?' They said: 'He is fasting.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Why is he fasting? This is a day of eating.'
