حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو بْنِ قُهَيْدِ بْنِ مُطَرِّفٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عُدِيَ
عَلَى مَالِي قَالَ فَانْشُدْ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ انْشُدْ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَانْشُدْ اللَّهَ قَالَ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ قَالَ فَقَاتِلْ فَإِنْ قُتِلْتَ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَ فَفِي النَّارِ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قُهَيْدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ

English Translation
Yunus narrated to us, Layth narrated to us, from Yazid, from 'Amr ibn Quhayd ibn Mutarrif al-Ghifari, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which charity has the greatest reward?' He said: 'That you give in charity while you are healthy and tight-fisted, fearing poverty and hoping for wealth. Do not delay until the soul reaches the throat, and then you say: This is for so-and-so, and this is for so-and-so, when it already belongs to so-and-so.'
