حَدَّثَنَا هَوْذَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفُ بْنُ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْه

ِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ قَالَ قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَبْدِي تَرَكَ شَهْوَتَهُ وَطَعَامَهُ وَشَرَابَهُ ابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاتِي وَالصَّوْمُ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ

English Translation

Hawdhah narrated to us, Awf ibn Abi Jamilah narrated to us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'The changed breath of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah than the fragrance of musk. He leaves his food, his drink, and his desires for My sake. Fasting is for Me, and I shall reward for it. And a good deed is rewarded tenfold.'
