‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏مَنْ ‏ ‏سَمِعَ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ ‏ ‏لَيَرْتَقِيَنَّ جَبَّارٌ مِنْ جَبَابِرَةِ ‏ ‏بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ ‏ ‏عَلَى مِنْبَرِي هَذَا ‏

'Affan narrated to us who said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Zayd who said: Someone who heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated to me, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'Allah will not look on the Day of Resurrection at the one who drags his garment out of pride.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏أَنْبَأَنَا ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ ‏ ‏وَثَابِتٌ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْحَسَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا ‏ ‏وَاحْتِسَابًا ‏ ‏غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ وَمَا تَأَخَّرَ ‏

'Affan narrated to us who said: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, Muhammad ibn 'Amr informed us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Were it not that I would impose hardship on my Ummah, I would have commanded them to use the siwak with every ablution.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏يَقُولُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ ‏ ‏إِنْ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُدْخِلُهُ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ ‏ ‏يَتَغَمَّدَنِي ‏ ‏اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ وَفَضْلٍ وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Muhammad, meaning Ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: I heard Abu al-Qasim ﷺ say: 'Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunyah (Abu al-Qasim).'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏الْوَلَدُ ‏ ‏لِلْفِرَاشِ ‏ ‏وَلِلْعَاهِرِ ‏ ‏الْحَجَرُ ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Salamah, narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'If one of you looks at someone who has been given more in wealth and appearance, let him look at someone who has been given less.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏الْعَجْمَاءُ ‏ ‏جُبَارٌ ‏ ‏وَالْبِئْرُ ‏ ‏جُبَارٌ ‏ ‏وَالْمَعْدِنُ ‏ ‏جُبَارٌ ‏ ‏وَفِي ‏ ‏الرِّكَازِ ‏ ‏الْخُمْسُ ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Muhammad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Injuries caused by animals are without liability, wells are without liability, mines are without liability, and in buried treasure (rikaz) there is one-fifth.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَنْ اشْتَرَى شَاةً ‏ ‏مُصَرَّاةً ‏ ‏فَهُوَ ‏ ‏بِالْخِيَارِ ‏ ‏إِنْ شَاءَ رَدَّهَا ‏ ‏وَصَاعًا ‏ ‏مِنْ تَمْرٍ ‏

'Affan narrated to us, Hammad narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Whoever buys a sheep with udders full of unsold milk (musarrah), he has three days to choose: if he wishes, he keeps it, and if he wishes, he returns it along with a sa' of dates.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏وَعَفَّانُ ‏ ‏قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏هَمَّامٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةَ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْحَسَنِ ‏ ‏وَعَطَاءٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏لَا يَسْرِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَزْنِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا ‏ ‏يَغُلُّ ‏ ‏حِينَ ‏ ‏يَغُلُّ ‏ ‏وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ وَلَا ‏ ‏يَنْتَهِبُ ‏ ‏حِينَ ‏ ‏يَنْتَهِبُ ‏ ‏وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏عَطَاءٌ ‏ ‏وَلَا ‏ ‏يَنْتَهِبُ ‏ ‏نُهْبَةً ‏ ‏ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏فَقِيلَ لَهُ قَالَ إِنَّهُ يُنْتَزَعُ مِنْهُ الْإِيمَانُ فَإِنْ تَابَ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏فِي حَدِيثِهِ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَتَادَةُ ‏ ‏وَفِي حَدِيثِ ‏ ‏عَطَاءٍ ‏ ‏نُهْبَةً ‏ ‏ذَاتَ شَرَفٍ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ‏

Bahz and 'Affan narrated to us, they said: Hammam narrated to us, from Qatadah, from al-Hasan and 'Ata', from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ forbade meeting riders outside the town to buy their goods before they reach the market, and forbade a settled person selling on behalf of a Bedouin.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ ‏مَا نَقَصَتْ ‏ ‏صَدَقَةٌ ‏ ‏مِنْ مَالٍ وَمَا زَادَ اللَّهُ رَجُلًا بِعَفْوٍ إِلَّا عِزًّا وَمَا تَوَاضَعَ أَحَدٌ لِلَّهِ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏

'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us who said: Al-'Ala' ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: 'Do not envy one another, do not inflate prices against one another, do not hate one another, do not turn your backs on one another, and do not undercut one another's transactions. Be servants of Allah, brothers.'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ وَاللَّفْظِ ‏ ‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ قِيلَ لَهُ مَا الْغِيبَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ ‏ ‏ذِكْرُكَ أَخَاكَ بِمَا يَكْرَهُ قَالَ أَفَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ فِي أَخِي مَا أَقُولُ أَيْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنْ كَانَ فِي أَخِيكَ مَا تَقُولُ فَقَدْ ‏ ‏اغْتَبْتَهُ ‏ ‏وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ مَا تَقُولُ فَقَدْ ‏ ‏بَهَتَّهُ ‏

And with this chain of narration and wording, from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, that it was said to him: 'What is backbiting (ghibah), O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Mentioning your brother in a way he dislikes.' It was said: 'What if what I say about my brother is true?' He said: 'If what you say is in him, you have backbitten him. And if it is not in him, you have slandered him.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ‏ ‏أَبَا سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ قَالُوا قَصُرَتْ الصَّلَاةُ قَالَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ مَا سَلَّمَ ‏

Bahz narrated to us who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that shu'bah narrated to us, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, that he heard Abu Salamah narrating from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When one of you yawns, let him hold his hand over his mouth, for indeed the Shaytan enters.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏ائْتُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَعَلَيْكُمْ ‏ ‏السَّكِينَةُ ‏ ‏فَصَلُّوا مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ وَاقْضُوا مَا سَبَقَكُمْ ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sneeze is from Allah, and the yawn is from Shaytan. When one of you yawns, let him place his hand over his mouth. When he says: Ha! — Shaytan laughs.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ‏ ‏سَعْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏عَنِ ‏ ‏الْأَغَرِّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏صَلَاةٌ فِي ‏ ‏مَسْجِدِي ‏ ‏هَذَا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ مِنْ الْمَسَاجِدِ إِلَّا ‏ ‏الْكَعْبَةَ ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us who said: Sa'd ibn Ibrahim narrated to me, from al-Agharr, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Allah loves the sneeze and dislikes the yawn. When one of you sneezes and praises Allah, it is a right upon every Muslim who hears him to say: Yarhamuka Allah. As for yawning, it is from the Shaytan, so let him suppress it as much as he can, for when one of you yawns, the Shaytan laughs at him.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏قَتَادَةُ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏زُرَارَةَ بْنَ أَوْفَى ‏ ‏يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا بَاتَتْ الْمَرْأَةُ هَاجِرَةً فِرَاشَ زَوْجِهَا لَعَنَتْهَا الْمَلَائِكَةُ حَتَّى تَرْجِعَ ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us who said: I heard Zurarah ibn Awfa narrating from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Indeed, Allah overlooks for my Ummah what their souls whisper to them, so long as they do not act upon it or speak of it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏شُعْبَةُ ‏ ‏قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ‏ ‏حَبِيبُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ‏ ‏عُمَارَةَ بْنَ عُمَيْرٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي الْمُطَوِّسِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏مَنْ أَفْطَرَ يَوْمًا مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فِي غَيْرِ رُخْصَةٍ رَخَّصَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ الدَّهْرَ كُلَّهُ ‏

Bahz narrated to us who (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that shu'bah narrated to us who said: Habib ibn Abi Thabit informed me who said: I heard 'Umarah ibn 'Umayr, from Abu al-Mutawwis, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever breaks his fast on a day of Ramadan without a valid excuse or illness, fasting the entire lifetime will not make up for it even if he fasts it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ‏ ‏يَعْلَى بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَنْ أَطَاعَنِي فَقَدْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ وَمَنْ عَصَانِي فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَمَنْ أَطَاعَ الْأَمِيرَ فَقَدْ أَطَاعَنِي وَمَنْ عَصَى الْأَمِيرَ فَقَدْ عَصَانِي وَالْأَمِيرُ ‏ ‏مِجَنٌّ ‏ ‏فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَقُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا وَافَقَ ذَلِكَ قَوْلَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ غُفِرَ لَكُمْ وَإِنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us who said: Ya'la ibn 'Ata' informed us, from Abu 'Alqamah — and Abu 'Awanah al-Ansari said — from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'How will you be when you can neither enjoin good nor forbid evil?' It was said: 'Will that really happen, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Yes, and worse. How will you be when you consider good to be evil and evil to be good?'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بَهْزٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏أَنَّ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ ‏مَنْ صَلَّى عَلَى جِنَازَةٍ فَلَهُ ‏ ‏قِيرَاطٌ ‏ ‏وَمَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا وَتَبِعَهَا فَلَهُ ‏ ‏قِيرَاطَانِ ‏ ‏فَقَالَ لَهُ ‏ ‏عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ‏ ‏انْظُرْ مَا تُحَدِّثُ يَا ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏فَإِنَّك تُكْثِرُ الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فَأَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ فَذَهَبَ بِهِ إِلَى ‏ ‏عَائِشَةَ ‏ ‏فَصَدَّقَتْ ‏ ‏أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏فَقَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏وَاللَّهِ يَا ‏ ‏أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏مَا كَانَ يَشْغَلُنِي عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏الصَّفْقُ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ مَا كَانَ يُهِمُّنِي مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِلَّا كَلِمَةً يُعَلِّمُنِيهَا أَوْ لُقْمَةً يَلْقُمُنِيهَا ‏

Bahz narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from Ya'la ibn 'Ata', from al-Walid ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, that Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Do not refuse gifts. When I am invited even to a sheep's trotter, I accept. And when I am given even a sheep's trotter as a gift, I accept it.'

Bahz narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Khumayr, from a freed slave of Quraysh, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Allah عز وجل says: O son of Adam, devote yourself to My worship and I will fill your chest with richness and ward off poverty from you. If you do not do so, I will fill your hands with preoccupation and will not ward off poverty from you.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَنْ أَخَذَ مِنْ الْأَرْضِ شِبْرًا بِغَيْرِ حَقِّهِ ‏ ‏طُوِّقَهُ ‏ ‏مِنْ سَبْعِ أَرَضِينَ ‏

'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from 'Umar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'There is no contagion.' A Bedouin said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about my camels? They are on the sand like deer, then a mangy camel comes among them and makes them all mangy.' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Then who infected the first one?'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏هُنَّ أَيَّامُ ‏ ‏طُعْمٍ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏يَعْنِي ‏ ‏أَيَّامَ التَّشْرِيقِ ‏

'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, from 'Umar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'There is no contagion, no hama (owl superstition), and no Safar. Flee from the leper as you would flee from a lion.'

'Affan narrated to us, Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, 'Umar ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Whoever reads Ha-Mim al-Dukhan on Friday night, he will be forgiven.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏خُذُوا مِنْ الشَّوَارِبِ وَأَعْفُوا اللِّحَى ‏

Affan narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, from Umar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If any one of you leads the people in prayer, let him make it light, for among them are the weak, the sick, and the elderly. And if any one of you prays alone, let him pray as long as he wishes.'

‏ ‏وَبِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏لَا يَزَالُونَ يَسْأَلُونَ حَتَّى يُقَالُ هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَنَا فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏فَقَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏فَوَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَجَالِسٌ يَوْمًا إِذْ قَالَ لِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ ‏ ‏الْعِرَاقِ ‏ ‏هَذَا اللَّهُ خَلَقَنَا فَمَنْ خَلَقَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَالَ ‏ ‏أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏فَجَعَلْتُ أُصْبُعَيَّ فِي أُذُنَيَّ ثُمَّ صِحْتُ فَقُلْتُ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ ‏ ‏الصَّمَدُ ‏ ‏لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ ‏ ‏كُفُوًا ‏ ‏أَحَدٌ ‏

And with this chain of narration, he said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'They will keep asking questions until it is said: "Allah created us, so who created Allah (عز وجل)?" So if you find any of that, then say: "I believe in Allah."'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عُمَرُ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا ‏ ‏اسْتَجْمَرَ ‏ ‏أَحَدُكُمْ ‏ ‏فَلْيُوتِرْ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, Umar ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, and in both there is good. Be keen on what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not give up. If something befalls you, do not say: "If only I had done such and such." Rather say: "Allah decreed and what He willed He did," for "if only" opens the door to the work of Shaytan.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏إِذَا ‏ ‏أَبَقَ ‏ ‏الْعَبْدُ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏مَرَّةً إِذَا سَرَقَ ‏ ‏فَبِعْهُ وَلَوْ ‏ ‏بِنَشٍّ ‏ ‏وَالنَّشُّ نِصْفُ الْأُوقِيَّةِ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, from Umar ibn Abi Salamah, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'People are like mines of gold and silver. The best of them in Jahiliyyah are the best of them in Islam, if they gain understanding.'

Affan narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, he said Umar ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The souls are conscripted soldiers; those who recognized one another get along, and those who did not recognize one another are in disagreement.'

Affan narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, Umar ibn Abi Salamah narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Do not curse time, for indeed Allah is Time (i.e., He is the controller of time).'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سُلَيْمَانَ الْأَعْمَشِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي صَالِحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏أَكْثَرُ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فِي الْبَوْلِ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Abu Awanah narrated to us, from Sulayman al-A'mash, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'When the Imam says Ameen, say Ameen, for whoever's saying of Ameen coincides with the saying of Ameen by the angels, his previous sins will be forgiven.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قُرَيشٌ ‏ ‏وَالْأَنْصَارُ ‏ ‏وَأَسْلَمُ ‏ ‏وَغِفَارٌ ‏ ‏وَمُزَيْنَةُ ‏ ‏وَجُهَيْنَةُ ‏ ‏وَأَشْجَعُ ‏ ‏مَوَالِيَّ ‏ ‏لَيْسَ لَهُمْ دُونَ اللَّهِ وَلَا رَسُولِهِ ‏ ‏مَوْلًى ‏

Bishr ibn al-Mufaddal narrated to us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Ishaq narrated to us, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When it is a day of extreme heat, delay the prayer until it cools down, for indeed the intensity of heat is from the exhalation of Hellfire.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا ‏ ‏ثُمَامَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏مَرَّةً قَالَ زَعَمَ ذَاكَ ‏ ‏ثُمَامَةُ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَعَنْ ‏ ‏حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏إِذَا وَقَعَ الذُّبَابُ فِي إِنَاءِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَلْيَغْمِسْهُ فَإِنَّ فِي أَحَدِ جَنَاحَيْهِ دَاءً وَالْآخَرِ دَوَاءً ‏ ‏وَقَالَ ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏مَرَّةً فَإِنَّ أَحَدَ جَنَاحَيْهِ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Hammad, meaning Ibn Salamah, narrated to us, he said Thumamah ibn Abdullah ibn Anas informed us — and Affan once said: Thumamah claimed — from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never criticized food ever. If he desired it, he would eat it, and if he disliked it, he would leave it.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏ثَابِتٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي رَافِعٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ ‏ ‏إِنْسَانًا ‏ ‏كَانَ ‏ ‏يَقُمُّ ‏ ‏الْمَسْجِدَ أَسْوَدَ مَاتَ ‏ ‏أَوْ مَاتَتْ ‏ ‏فَفَقَدَهَا النَّبِيُّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏فَقَالَ مَا فَعَلَ الْإِنْسَانُ الَّذِي كَانَ ‏ ‏يَقُمُّ ‏ ‏الْمَسْجِدَ قَالَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ مَاتَ قَالَ فَهَلَّا ‏ ‏آذَنْتُمُونِي ‏ ‏بِهِ فَقَالُوا إِنَّهُ كَانَ لَيْلًا قَالَ فَدُلُّونِي عَلَى قَبْرِهَا قَالَ فَأَتَى الْقَبْرَ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏ثَابِتٌ ‏ ‏عِنْدَ ذَاكَ أَوْ فِي حَدِيثٍ آخَرَ ‏ ‏إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقُبُورَ مَمْلُوءَةٌ ظُلْمَةً عَلَى أَهْلِهَا وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يُنَوِّرُهَا بِصَلَاتِي عَلَيْهِمْ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, Thabit narrated to us, from Abu Rafi', from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that a person used to sweep the mosque — and it was a woman. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ missed her and asked about her. They said: 'She died.' He said: 'Why did you not inform me?' Then he went to her grave and prayed over her.

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏خَلِيفَةُ بْنُ غَالِبٍ اللَّيْثِيُّ ‏ ‏قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏وَهُوَ عِنْدَهُ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏أَيُّ الْأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ الْإِيمَانُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْجِهَادُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ ذَاكَ قَالَ فَأَيُّ الرِّقَابِ أَعْظَمُ أَجْرًا قَالَ أَغْلَاهَا ثَمَنًا وَأَنْفَسُهَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِهَا قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ قَالَ ‏ ‏فَتُعِينُ ‏ ‏ضَائِعًا أَوْ تَصْنَعُ ‏ ‏لِأَخْرَقَ ‏ ‏قَالَ فَإِنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ ذَاكَ قَالَ فَاحْبِسْ نَفْسَكَ عَنْ الشَّرِّ فَإِنَّهَا ‏ ‏صَدَقَةٌ ‏ ‏حَسَنَةٌ تَصَدَّقْتَ بِهَا عَلَى نَفْسِكَ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Khalifah ibn Ghalib al-Laythi narrated to us, he said Sa'id ibn Abi Sa'id al-Maqburi narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever follows a funeral procession and offers the funeral prayer for it, he will get one qirat [of reward]. And whoever follows it until it is buried, he will get two qirats.' It was asked: 'What are the two qirats?' He said: 'Like two huge mountains.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وُهَيْبٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عِسْلُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏مَا طَلَعَ النَّجْمُ صَبَاحًا قَطُّ وَتَقُومُ ‏ ‏عَاهَةٌ ‏ ‏إِلَّا رُفِعَتْ عَنْهُمْ أَوْ خَفَّتْ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, 'Isl ibn Sufyan narrated to us, from Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'When any one of you wakes up from sleep and performs wudu, let him rinse his nose three times, for indeed the Shaytan spends the night in the upper part of his nose.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وُهَيْبٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُهَيْلٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏رَجُلٍ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏سَمِعَ صَوْتًا فَأَعْجَبَهُ فَقَالَ ‏ ‏قَدْ أَخَذْنَا فَالَكَ مِنْ ‏ ‏فِيكَ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Suhayl narrated to us, from a man, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ heard a sound and asked: 'What is this?' They said: 'Palm trees being pollinated.' He said: 'If they were to leave it, it would be better' — or he said: 'it would be fine.' So they left it, and the dates turned out shriveled. He said: 'I am only a human. When I command you with something regarding your religion, take it. And when I command you with something from my opinion, then I am only a human.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏هَمَّامٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏قَتَادَةُ ‏ ‏أَنَّ ‏ ‏عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ ‏ ‏مَوْلَى ‏ ‏أُمِّ بُرْثُنٍ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَ عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏كَتَبَ اللَّهُ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفُوا وَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ ‏ ‏فَلِلْيَهُودِ ‏ ‏غَدٌ ‏ ‏وَلِلنَّصَارَى ‏ ‏بَعْدَ غَدٍ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Hammam narrated to us, Qatadah narrated to us, that Abd al-Rahman, the freed slave of Umm Burthun, narrated from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Whoever takes an oath and sees that something else is better than it, let him do that which is better and make expiation for his oath.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وُهَيْبٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُهَيْلٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏لَا تَجْعَلُوا بُيُوتَكُمْ مَقَابِرَ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَفِرُّ مِنْ الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي تُقْرَأُ فِيهِ ‏ ‏الْبَقَرَةُ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'Do not make your houses into graveyards. Indeed, the Shaytan flees from the house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ‏ ‏وَوُهَيْبٌ ‏ ‏قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُهَيْلٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ مِنْ مَجْلِسِهِ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ فَهُوَ أَحَقُّ بِهِ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Hammad ibn Salamah and Wuhayb narrated to us, they said: Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If any one of you performs wudu, let him put water in his nose and then blow it out. And whoever cleans himself with stones, let him use an odd number. And when any one of you wakes up from sleep, let him wash his hands before putting them into the vessel, for he does not know where his hand spent the night.'

‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏عَفَّانُ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏وُهَيْبٌ ‏ ‏حَدَّثَنَا ‏ ‏سُهَيْلٌ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِيهِ ‏ ‏عَنْ ‏ ‏أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏ ‏عَنْ النَّبِيِّ ‏ ‏صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ‏ ‏قَالَ ‏ ‏لَأَنْ يَجْلِسَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى جَمْرَةٍ فَتُحْرِقَ ثِيَابَهُ حَتَّى تَخْلُصَ إِلَيْهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ يَطَأَ عَلَى قَبْرِ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ ‏

Affan narrated to us, Wuhayb narrated to us, Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'That I walk with my brother to fulfill his need is more beloved to me than performing i'tikaf in this mosque of mine for a month.'
