حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ قَالَ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ إِنَّ أَبَا عُبَيْدٍ م
َوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ يُسْتَجَابُ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مَا لَمْ يَعْجَلْ فَيَقُولُ قَدْ دَعَوْتُ رَبِّي فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِبْ لِي

English Translation
Ibrahim ibn Abi al-Abbas narrated to us, he said Abu Uways narrated to us, he said al-Zuhri said: Abu Ubayd, the freed slave of Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, informed me that Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If one of you keeps his shoes with him when he sits, let him not put them on his right. Let him put them on his left. And if there is no one to his left, let him put them behind him and not put them before him, for they will disturb him.'
