Hadith #169
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ
الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا فَيُؤْمِنَ النَّاسُ أَجْمَعُونَ فَيَوْمَئِذٍ { لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْسًا إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْرًا } وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تُقَاتِلُوا الْيَهُودَ فَيَفِرَّ الْيَهُودِيُّ وَرَاءَ الْحَجَرِ فَيَقُولَ الْحَجَرُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ يَا مُسْلِمُ هَذَا يَهُودِيٌّ وَرَائِي وَلَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تُقَاتِلُوا قَوْمًا نِعَالُهُمْ الشَّعَرُ

English Translation
Mu'awiyah narrated to us, he said Za'idah narrated to us, Abdullah ibn Dhakwan narrated to us, from Abd al-Rahman al-A'raj, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ who said: 'The Hour will not be established until the sun rises from its place of setting. When it rises and the people see it, they will all believe. But that is when "no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned good through its faith" [6:158].'
