Chain of Narration (Isnad)

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْمَقْبَرَةِ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَى أَهْلِهَا قَالَ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ دَارَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ وَدِدْتُ أَنَّا قَدْ رَأَيْنَا إِخْوَانَنَا قَالُوا أَوَلَسْنَا إِخْوَانَكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ أَصْحَابِي وَإِخْوَانِي الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَأْتُوا بَعْدُ وَأَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ قَالُوا وَكَيْفَ تَعْرِفُ مَنْ لَمْ يَأْتِ بَعْدُ مِنْ أُمَّ

تِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَهُ خَيْلٌ غُرٌّ مُحَجَّلَةٌ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَيْ خَيْلٍ دُهْمٍ بُهْمٍ أَلَا يَعْرِفُ خَيْلَهُ قَالُوا بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْتُونَ غُرًّا مُحَجَّلِينَ مِنْ الْوُضُوءِ يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثًا وَأَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ أَلَا لَيُذَادَنَّ رِجَالٌ عَنْ حَوْضِي كَمَا يُذَادُ الْبَعِيرُ الضَّالُّ أُنَادِيهِمْ أَلَا هَلُمَّ أَلَا هَلُمَّ فَيُقَالُ إِنَّهُمْ قَدْ بَدَّلُوا بَعْدَكَ فَأَقُولُ سُحْقًا سُحْقًا

English Translation

Affan narrated to us, he said Abd al-Rahman ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he said al-Ala' ibn Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The bankrupt person among my ummah is the one who comes on the Day of Resurrection with prayer, fasting, and zakah, but he has insulted this one, slandered that one, consumed the wealth of this one, shed the blood of that one, and beaten this one. So this one is given from his good deeds, and that one is given from his good deeds. If his good deeds run out before his debts are settled, some of their sins will be taken and thrown upon him, and then he will be thrown into the Hellfire.'
