English Translation

Affan narrated to us, he said Aban al-Attar narrated to us, he said Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us, he said Abu Kathir al-Anbari narrated to us, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'How will you be when you cannot collect a dinar or a dirham?' They said: 'How do you see that happening, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, it will certainly come.' They said: 'When will that be?' He said: 'When the sanctities of Islam are violated, and when the trusts are wasted, and when it becomes like this' — and he intertwined his fingers. They said: 'What should we do then, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'Take what you know and leave what you condemn. Focus on your own affairs and leave the affairs of the common people.'
