حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ قَالَ كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَعْمِلُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ قَالَ فَكَانَ إِذَا رَأ
َى إِنْسَانًا يَجُرُّ إِزَارَهُ ضَرَبَ بِرِجْلِهِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ قَدْ جَاءَ الْأَمِيرُ قَدْ جَاءَ الْأَمِيرُ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا

English Translation
Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn Ziyad, he said: Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) over Madinah. He said: And when he led us in Friday prayer, he would supplicate for the Prophet ﷺ, Abu Bakr, and Umar (رضي الله عنهما), and he would say: 'O Allah, forgive the believing men and believing women, the Muslim men and Muslim women.'
