حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلٌ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَحَبَّ عَبْدًا دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ إِنِّي أُحِبُّ فُلَانًا فَأَحِبَّهُ قَالَ فَيُحِبُّهُ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام قَالَ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ فُلَانًا قَالَ
فَيُحِبُّهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ يُوضَعُ لَهُ الْقَبُولُ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَبْغَضَ عَبْدًا دَعَا جِبْرِيلَ فَقَالَ يَا جِبْرِيلُ إِنِّي أُبْغِضُ فُلَانًا فَأَبْغِضْهُ قَالَ فَيُبْغِضُهُ جِبْرِيلُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي فِي أَهْلِ السَّمَاءِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبْغِضُ فُلَانًا فَأَبْغِضُوهُ قَالَ فَيُبْغِضُهُ أَهْلُ السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ تُوضَعُ لَهُ الْبَغْضَاءُ فِي الْأَرْضِ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us, he said: Abu 'Awanah narrated to us, he said: Suhayl narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'When Allah (عز وجل) loves a servant, He calls Jibril (عليه السلام) and says: O Jibril, I love so-and-so, so love him. So Jibril loves him. Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heavens: Allah loves so-and-so, so love him. So the inhabitants of the heavens love him, and then acceptance is placed for him on earth. And when Allah (عز وجل) hates a servant, He calls Jibril and says: O Jibril, I hate so-and-so, so hate him. So Jibril hates him. Then he calls out among the inhabitants of the heavens: Allah hates so-and-so, so hate him. So the inhabitants of the heavens hate him, and then hatred is placed for him on earth.'
