English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: 'Abd al-Wahid ibn Ziyad narrated to us, he said: 'Umarah ibn al-Qa'qa' ibn Shubramah al-Dabbi narrated to us, he said: Abu Zur'ah ibn 'Amr ibn Jarir informed us, he said: Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) narrated to us, he said: A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, which charity is the greatest?' He said: 'That you give charity while you are healthy, covetous, fearing poverty, and hoping for a long life. Do not delay until the soul reaches the throat and you say: Give to so-and-so such-and-such, and give to so-and-so such-and-such — when it already belongs to so-and-so.'
