حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْن

ُ فَرَاهِيجَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ مَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا الْأَسْوَدَانِ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ

English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us: Dawud ibn Farahij narrated to us, who said: I heard Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) say: 'We had no food during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except the two black things: dates and water.'
