English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: Hammad ibn Salamah narrated to us, from 'Asim ibn Bahdala, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the 'Isha prayer one night until nearly a third of the night had passed, or close to it. Then he came out and the people were few, gathered in groups. He became very angry, then said: 'If a man were to invite people to a bone or a pair of sheep trotters, they would respond to him, yet they stay away from this prayer. I have considered ordering a man to lead the prayer while I go to the houses of those who stay behind from this prayer and burn them down upon them with fire.'
