حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَلَمَةَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بِمِنًى يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَقَاضَاهُ فَأَغْلَظَ لَهُ
قَالَ فَهَمَّ بِهِ أَصْحَابُهُ فَقَالَ دَعُوهُ فَإِنَّ لِصَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ مَقَالًا قَالَ اشْتَرُوا لَهُ بَعِيرًا فَأَعْطُوهُ إِيَّاهُ قَالُوا لَا نَجِدُ إِلَّا سِنًّا أَفْضَلَ مِنْ سِنِّهِ قَالَ فَاشْتَرُوهُ فَأَعْطُوهُ إِيَّاهُ فَإِنَّ مِنْ خَيْرِكُمْ أَحْسَنَكُمْ قَضَاءً
Isnad Chain
English Translation
'Affan narrated to us: Shu'bah narrated to us, who said: Salamah ibn Kuhayl informed me, who said: I heard Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrating at Mina, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ demanding repayment of a debt and was rude to him. His companions were about to deal with the man, but the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Leave him, for the creditor has the right to speak.' He said: 'Buy him a camel and give it to him.' They said: 'We can only find one older (better) than what he is owed.' He said: 'Buy it and give it to him, for the best of you are those who are best in repaying debts.'
