English Translation
Qutaybah narrated to us, he said: 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muhammad narrated to us, from al-'Ala, meaning Ibn 'Abd al-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه), that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No person opens upon himself a door of begging except that Allah opens upon him a door of poverty. For a man to take his rope and go to the mountain to gather firewood on his back and eat from that is better for him than asking people, whether given or refused.'
