حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن أَحْمَد و سَمِعْت أَنَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَا
لِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا وَإِذَا قَرَأَ فَأَنْصِتُوا

English Translation
'Abdullah ibn Muhammad narrated to us — 'Abdullah ibn Ahmad said: and I also heard it from 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shaybah — he said: Abu Khalid al-Ahmar narrated to us from Ibn 'Ajlan, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The imam has been appointed only to be followed. So when he says the takbir, say the takbir, and when he recites, listen attentively."
