English Translation
Hasan ibn Musa narrated to us, Shayban ibn 'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, Yahya ibn Abi Kathir narrated to us from Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Awf, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: While I was praying Dhuhr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave salam after two rak'ahs. A man from Banu Sulaym stood and said: "O Messenger of Allah, has the prayer been shortened or did you forget?" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It has not been shortened, and I did not forget." The man said: "O Messenger of Allah, you only prayed two rak'ahs." the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Is what Dhu al-Yadayn says true?" They said: "Yes." So he stood and prayed the remaining two rak'ahs with them. Yahya said: Damdam ibn Jaws narrated to me that he heard Abu Hurayrah saying: Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.
