English Translation

Isma'il narrated to us, he said: al-Hajjaj ibn Abi 'Uthman informed us from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The previously-married woman is consulted regarding herself (she must give explicit consent), and the virgin is asked for permission." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is her permission?" He said: "Her silence (constitutes consent)."
