حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِ
ي يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ فَإِنَّمَا هَلَكَ مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَكُمْ بِكَثْرَةِ سُؤَالِهِمْ أَنْبِيَاءَهُمْ وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَإِذَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ فَانْتَهُوا وَإِذَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِأَمْرٍ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ

English Translation
Yahya narrated to us from Ibn 'Ajlan, he said: I heard my father narrating from Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Leave me as long as I leave you, for those before you were destroyed because of their excessive questioning of their prophets and their disagreements with them. When I forbid you from something, avoid it. And when I command you with something, do as much of it as you are able."
